Who We Are
Ideas Inc. is a business incubator – a support mechanism that offers the advisory and mentorship expertise that encourages and supports the entrepreneurial spirit. We are a non-profit organization developed and operated by Saskatoon’s Business community.
Ideas Inc. Board of Directors includes:
- Downtown, Riversdale and Broadway business improvement districts
- North Saskatoon Business Association
- Saskatchewan Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs
- Whitecap Dakota First Nation
- Saskatoon Real Estate Board Commercial Division
- Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority
- Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce.
Ideas Inc. is a member of the Canadian Association of Business Incubators and the National Business Incubator Association.
What We Do
As a business incubator, Ideas Inc. nurtures the development of entrepreneurial companies, helping them survive and grow during their start-up or growth periods, when they are most vulnerable to market challenges. We provide our clients with targeted resources and services that help ensure that their companies will leave the program financially viable and freestanding. Graduates have the potential to create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize new technologies, and strengthen local and national economies.
By co-locating in a building with other entrepreneurs and colleagues launching their own business start-ups, the entrepreneurial fire within each client business is encouraged.
Business incubation works! While history suggests that only about one in five business start-ups survive the first five years, companies that are launched or expanded in a business incubator have an 87% success rate! (Source: National Business Incubator Association). That’s the environment in which your company can thrive. It’s about setting the stage for success.
